30 years after Portishead’s seminal debut Dummy, and over 20 years since her collaboration with Rustin Man (Talk Talk’s Paul Webb), Beth Gibbons is about to release her debut solo album, Lives Outgrown. The album was produced by James Ford and Gibbons with additional production by Lee Harris (another Talk Talk connection, he was the drummer). Described as “Beth’s most personal work to date”, the album is a result of a period of sustained reflection and change — “lots of goodbyes,” in Beth’s words.
